Services 

Animal Emergency & Specialty Center, Inc. provides after hours veterinary care to our area Animal- Veterinary Hospitals.  As a rule, whenever your family veterinarian is closed, we are open.  Also, we are a referral center in that your family veterinarian may have you transfer to our hospital to have specialized testing, treatments, and or surgical procedures.  Our facility is equipped to handle the most severe of illness or trauma, yet we welcome any minor problems- ie:  "a thorn in a paw", "a broken toe nail", "a bleeding tail feather", and "an emergency ear cleaning".  As the owner you determine urgency of pet care day or night.

We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.  

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
   

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern anesthetic equipment, all patients are ventilated, vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

    
Ultrasound, endoscopic procedures and helps us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.

   
Radiology Services:  Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.  A CAT Scan is soon to be added to further our diagnostic abilities.

   
Electrocardiography Services:  We provide onsite ECG monitoring, Blood pressure (NIBP / Doppler BP) monitoring, Pulse oximetry (SpO2), and along with determination of respiratory carbon dioxide levels (ETCO2) we able to treat the needs of our critical respiratory and cardiac compromised pets.
   
Dentistry:  We do not perform routine teeth cleaning and polishing dentistry.  See your family veterinarian.  However, we do dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery as indicated.
   
Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, blood gases, blood coagulation, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.  We realize that many times our patients do not have 24 hours to await Laboratory results submitted to a outside Laboratory service.
 

   
Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Emergency Care:  Our hospital not just one of the best in the state of Ohio, we rank among the best within the country!  We are accredited by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA); less than 18% of all animal hospitals in the country are AAHA accredited and less than 1% are animal emergency centers!  The quality of care and comfort provided to your pet is exceptional.  We invented the usage of the pet critical care crib and oxygen muzzle systems.  Our doctors have more than thirty years of veterinary emergency medicine experience.  Finally, we recently moved into our new 10,000 sqft hospital dedicated to the care and welfare of your pets.  Come and visit us, you and your pet will not be disappointed.
